A Fine Handmade Traditional WWII Samurai Sword Katana/Tachi By The Justly Renowned Ichihara Nagamitsu Circa 1939.
26 and 1/4 inch heavy wide blade. Suguha midare hamon with extensive ashi and ji nie. Lovely mokume hada. Ubu nakago in pristine condition with 4 character Ichihara Nagamitsu tachi mei signature.
Full WWII Japanese Imperial Army mounts in excellent condition. Ichihara Nagamitsu made swords for the Osaka Army Arsenal.
Nagamitsu blades are among the finest produced by Showa swordsmiths. Nagamitsu is rated Rikugun Jumei Tosho or medium to high grade gendaito.
The blade is in almost full polish with no kizu and only a small area of slightly open grain on the ura. 5 inch score on the moot. Micro chip on kissaki. Even comes complete with a pristine late tassel.
This is a beautiful samurai sword by one of the acknowledged masters of the Showa period.
