A Very Rare And Highly Sought After U.S. Model 1808 Naval Flintlock Martial Pistol.
Only 3000 made from 1808 to 1810. 10 and 1/8th inch round barrel. 64 caliber. Overall length 16 and 1/4 inches.
Unmarked barrel. Lock with spread American eagle and U. States. Stamped at tail of lock plate “S. NORTH BERLIN CON.”. Walnut full stock with minor repair at muzzle. No inspector’s mark visible. Belt hook is present. Steel parts polished but not pitted.
Wood had excellent edges around lock and belt hook. North markings are good. Action is very strong. Bore is fine. We removed the lock and this rarity appears to be in its original flintlock condition. Oak ramrod of the proper type.
In earlier gun collecting days these big North Berlin's were regarded with the same respect as a Paterson Colt revolver. Here is an opportunity to acquire one of the icons of American martial pistol collecting.
