This item is a ryo shinogi fukuro yari or Japanese socket spear with a diamond shaped cross-section.
There is scattered staining to the blade which shows a lot of characteristic suguha, or straight temper.
The socket has lacquered gilding.
This rather scarce item comes complete with its original scabbard cover.
