Model 1841 "Mississippi" contract rifle by Robbins and Lawrence dated 1850
This is a very nice rifle in better than average condition. The action functions correctly on both half and full cock. The wood in excellent condition with 2 inspector's cartouches, the barrel with proof markings.
Some scattered light pitting on top of barrel from percussion cap firing. Bore shows strong rifling. Buttplate with regiment or rack markings.
Barrel shows remnants of arsenal removal of the original socket bayonet lug.
