The stout diamond shape blade is a full 42 inches in length. The blade is patinated but not pitted and fits the cup to perfection. The cup is very finely pierced with hearts and wreaths within relief chiseled line panels. The quillons are of excellent quality being finely writhen in spirals and ending in expanded knobs. The D-guard is integral with the quillon block and ensuite.

Beautiful wood grip bound with twisted steel wire of two varieties, one knobby offering an exceptional grip to the wielder of this fighting rapier, surmounted by twisted steel wire “Turk’s Heads”. The heavy ovoid pommel chiseled in relief with hearts within sections divided by relief borders.

Over 50 inches long overall. Condition is fine throughout and this is an exceptionally attractive cup hilt rapier. Sure to appeal to the sophisticated collector of fine early 17th century swords.
