This is an Ottoman Tufenk Rifled Carbine circa 1700's.
It has a standard Miguelet lock that functions well with the maker's cartouche set in silver.
The Circassan walnut stock is finely patterned and inlaid with numerous elaborate rondelles and bone or antler inlays. It has some working life repairs.
The elaborate Damascus barrel has two patterns of Damascus. The central twist has a very elegant fine twist. The breach and muzzle has a different but equally elaborate pattern. The swamped barrel has very nice form and is approximately .75 caliber at the tip.
It has a unusual round patch grease box on the underside of the stock. This is a quality weapon that shows quite a bit of use, but was well maintained.
