This katana features a 69.3 centimeter blade with fine choji midare hamon. Ubu nakago with one mekugi-ana. Full signature katana mei ‘Hizen no Kuni Omi Daijo Tadahiro'.
Tsuka with silver fuchi-kashira decorated in relief with dragonflies. Shakudo kiri mon menuki. Good iron tsuba with katakiri dragonflies with gold eyes. Silver foil habaki. Fine red roiro lacquer saya with silver dragonfly kojiri ensuite with fuchi-kashira.
Condition of blade in almost full sashikomi polish with all details visible and only minor saya abrasion at boshi (point). Saya in fine condition overall with only extremely minor damage.
Mounts are crisp and unpolished. Handle wrap (tsuka-maki) is tight. Same is almost presentation quality. Menuki are possibly not of the period.
Altogether a very attractive well mounted Shinto katana, perfect for iaido or collection.
