A Fine Cased Set of Carved Ebony Stocked Continental Percussion Single Shot Dueling Pistols.

The 9 and 1/2 inch octagonal barrels are 45 caliber and finely fluted with engraved tendrils at either end. Fine blued foresights. French gray breeches are finely engraved. Shaped and bolted front action locks are very finely engraved throughout with scrolls and gadrooned borders. The hammers engraved ensuite. Steel furniture with engraved spurred trigger guard and steel skull crusher buttcap. Fine quality fluted and carved ebony half stocks.

Cased with full accessories comprising two rods, powder dipper, turn screw, nipple wrench, bullet mold, and extremely fine copper powder flask with spout retaining nearly all its original gilding and niter blue on the spring. Case is lined in green baize, the lid with gilt stamped retailer “Gastinne Renette a Paris”.

Condition of barrels is excellent retaining much bright original blue nearly 100%. Locks rate excellent as do stocks. Actions are excellent, crisp as new. Lining of case is excellent. Case is very good with owner’s brass plaque engraved with owner’s initials “H. d’A”.

One piece of corner veneer missing on right edge. An excellent cased set of classic French percussion duelers.
