A Fine Indo Persian Shamshir Circa 1750 With Gilded Parrot Hilt And Magnificent Finest Quality Black Damascus Blade In Near Mint Condition.
The blade is 33 and 1/2 inches long, deeply curved, 1 and 1/4 inches wide at forte. This lovely blade has 5 discontinuous grooves separated by small circular periods. The pattern is simply fabulous and in pristine condition with all the master blade maker’s details clearly visible. Little if any pitting except at the very tip and there it is negligible. No staining obscures the exuberant black Damascus.
The parrot hilt exhibits most of its beautiful gold Damascening with expected light wear from carry. This work of art blade comes in its original (for a change) worn red velvet covered scabbard one area of damage at the extreme tip.
Once again permit us to emphasize the outstanding quality and condition of this blade.
Unequalled in most recent auction sales and certain to please the advanced collector of Islamic swords.
