A Fine Pair of English Napoleonic Era Flintlock Officer’s Pistols Signed Smith (Possibly Samuel Smith) Circa 1810.
8 and 1/2 inch fine Damascus octagonal barrels. .60 caliber.
Gold bands at breech and signed in gold sunken cartouche “LONDON”. Platinum blow-out plugs. Breech tangs finely engraved. Bolted front action locks with push on safeties, floral engraving signed “SMITH”. Roller bearing frizzens with line engraving.
Figured walnut fullstocks with finely checkered grip. Engraved trigger guards with classic English pineapple finial. Silver wedge escutcheons. Original brass tipped ramrods, each with worm.
Barrels with 100% beautiful old Damascus brown finish. Triggerguards with 100% old attractive blue finish. Locks with much original bright polish. Stocks are very fine with only minor marks and no cracks.
Actions are as crisp as they were in Napoleon’s day. Bores are mint.
This is a very fine quality pair of British flintlock officer’s pistols and sure to please the discriminating collector of British firearms.
