This is a Belgian percussion pistol by Lecomte a Liege, who was active from 1775 to 1790. This pistol is in the classic French style and was converted from flintlock.
This pistol is unusual in that it has a unique German-style nipple protector/safety that is normally only found on German weapons. This officer’s pistol has German silver furniture, a round barrel with top flats, a checkered butt, and is sparsely engraved. It has a horn tipped ramrod and fore end.
The action is crisp in both half and full cock. It is in good overall condition. It has an approximate two-inch crack from the front of the lock to the barrel channel.
