A Gold And Silver Decorated Ottoman Gun Butt Blunderbuss Pistol Circa 1850.
11 and 1/4 inch barrel with 1 and 1/2 inch bell muzzle.
The barrel relief chiseled and inlaid throughout its length with gold and silver scrolls, lozenges, and a five pointed star. The bolted front action lock inlaid with gold and silver ensuite. Hammer and frizzen are also decorated with gold and silver ensuite. Steel sideplate with lanyard loop silver and gold inlaid ensuite. Even the triggerguard is inlaid with matching gold and silver designs.
Steel buttplate elaborately inlaid with gold and silver wire ensuite with lock and barrel. Shaped walnut full stock.
Condition of metalwork is smooth brown steel with all silver and gold decoration intact. Stock with a few minor marks and minimal age cracks toward buttplate. Action is good but stiff. Bore is fair. This is a very unusual and attractive Ottoman blunderbuss pistol.
