This is an Excellent US Model 1842 percussion pistol by Aston dated 1851.
The wood is extremely sound with two strong cartouches. The barrel and lock are nicely marked with almost no pitting. It has a nipple protector. It has a standard captive ramrod. The action functions flawlessly.
This is a very nice example of an Aston.
