U.S. Model 1884 Trapdoor Springfield Rifle.
397XXX serial number range, 45-70 caliber. All markings are clear. The 32 5/8" barrel has a great bore with strong rifling. The barrel blue has plumbed out. Buffington sight is complete.
Significant blue on lock and hammer. Only traces of mottled faded case color on breechblock. Crisp action. Stock has been lightly sanded, has a light varnish and shows normal dings/mars. It has cracks at the top of the wrist and in front and below lock. No visible cartouche. Retains original ramrod.
