An Interesting Double Barrel European Pinfire Coach Gun Circa 1865.
16 and 3/8th inch fine Damascus barrels. 14 gauge.
Sparsely engraved back action locks. Hammers engraved with foliage. Frame with undercover lever engraved ensuite with hammers and locks. Steel triggergaurd engraved with dark horn finger rest in the Continental European manner. Steel buttplate, Figured Circassian walnut butt with cheekpiece.
Condition of barrels is fine with much Damascus brown finish. Locks and frame are crisp “French gray” with some minor staining. Buttplate is dark. Finely checkered wrist but has old repaired crack. Sling stud on butt missing.
Action is exceptionally crisp on both half and full cock. Bores are fair to good. A really neat coach gun measuring only 32 and 1/2 inches overall.
