An American New York ‘Kentucky’ Style Flintlock Pistol With H. Meacham Lock (H. Meacham, Albany, 1818-1830) And Barrel With Faux British Proofs Circa 1825. 8 and 3/4 inch 54 caliber round barrel .
The bolted lock with roller bearing frizzen sparsely engraved with a classic Kentucky style starburst and well signed “H. Meacham & Co. Warranted”. The barrel with imitation English proofs and stamped at extreme rear of breech with a line of distinctly un-English stars. Simple unengraved American Kentucky style brass furniture. Single side nail and American style small sideplate.
Figured walnut full stock characteristically American in form. Condition of barrel and lock even age brown. Action is good and bore is fair. The full stock has a lovely old patina that is most attractive. Ramrod is a nice oak replacement. 14 inches overall.
A very attractive post War of 1812 flintlock pistol.
