22 inch round barrel. 54 caliber. One of approximately 43,000 purchased by the American government between 1863 and 1865. This example with breech stamped “Burnside Patent Model Of 1864”. Barrel with 90%+ fading original bluing with light surface spotting. Frame retains 90% fading casehardening with some vividly. Lock with faded blue. Hammer with 20% case colors nickeling out. Lever with some bright blue and breechblock with much faded original blue.

Forend with most original varnish with clear military inspector’s stamp NRP. Sock with 90% original thin varnish and crisp RKW inspector’s mark. Screws retain much original blue finish.

This is a far above average Burnside carbine and will please any Civil War carbine collector. Bore is a mirror with no corrosion. Action is flawless.
