A Rare And Important WWII Japanese Samurai Sword (Katana) By The Renowned (Kinoshita) Yoshitada Saga Designated Rikugun Jumei Tosho (Medium To High Grade Gendaito In Its Original WWII Imperial Japanese Army Officer’s Koshirae Complete With Knot Signed Tachi-mei ‘Hizen Kuni Ju Nin Yoshitada Saku Kore And Dated.

Heavy 26 and 3/4 inch shinogi tsukuri blade with classic complex Hizen Tadayoshi style suguha hamon.Tight nishiji hada. Beautiful ubu nakago with superbly cut signature and yoko yasurimei, Fine WWII Imperial Army mounts complete with canvas boot (minor damage). Coppered habaki. Condition of blade is in good state of polish with staining but absolutely flawless.

Oshigata listed on page 201 of John Sloughs Modern Japanese Swordsmiths and Yoshitada’s place as a winner of “The 1ST Seat (National Swordsmiths) Slough page 215. This is a true example of the last of the Tadayoshi school swordsmiths and a great gendaito for the discerning collector of Showa period nihon-to.

These have dramatically appreciated in both value and artistic importance in the past few years and are likely to continue to thrill both new and veteran collectors of Japanese swords.
