14 and 1/2 inch heavy round barrel 75 caliber. Barrel signed on flat “Wogdon and Barton” gunmaker’s proofs and “RW” stamp for Robert Wogdon. Bolted lock with stepped tail, push-on safety, large swan neck cock with beautiful engraved signature “Wogdon Barton”. Plain brass triggerguard and buttplate.
Figured walnut full stock. Condition is basically untouched with unpolished brass and lock. Barrel is Damascus with faint pattern and old wear. Stock is excellent with one very minor loss in lock mortise. Bore is good. Action holds on full cock only.
This is a rare carbine by two of London’s best gunmakers obviously made on order. Robert Wogdon is renowned for his dueling pistols. A very handsome short blunderbuss/carbine.
