A Very Good Silver Damascened Indian Axe (Tabar) on Its Original Steel Reinforced Wood Shaft Circa 1845.
The blade with 3 and 1/16 inch edge is 5 inches overall. The finely forged steel head is Damascened throughout with heavy silver flowers in classic Indian motifs.
Length overall is 23 inches. Wood shaft is decorated with copper flowers.
Condition overall is fine with all the heavy silver intact. Wood shaft is undamaged. An excellent and most attractive tabar or saddle axe.
