A Good Indian War Period Sharps Model 1868 50-70 Three Groove Rifled Barrel Saddle Ring Carbine With Cam Type Firing Pin Serial Number C 17450. 22 inch round barrel. 27,000 manufactured.
Barrel mostly smooth light brown patina. One 5 inch area of medium pitting on left of barrel behind the front sight. Rear sight good with one replaced screw. Lock and action with smooth patina showing little wear with good Sharp’s and Robbins and Lawrence markings. Action works perfectly and is very tight.
Walnut buttstock with typical marks from military usage. The comb with a few medium dents. Tight age cracks at buttplate, Buttplate with no pitting and perfect screw slots. Walnut fore-end with light marks and heavier wear on right near frame.
Bore is mirror bright with no pitting and perfect rifling. Hammer is polished bright. A handsome classic Indian War period Sharps saddle ring carbine.
