Most Fantastic Genuine “Peanut” Henry Deringer Deringer

1 and 1/4 inch barrel and .36 caliber. This beautiful “Peanut” is only 4 and 1/2 inches overall. The barrel with the Deringer double silver bands at breech. The barrel with full “N. Curry & Brother San Francisco address. The breech deeply struck “Deringer Philadela” and his sunburst and “P”.

The diminutive back action lock engraved with floral scrolls and deeply stamped “Deringer Philadela”. Classic Deringer German silver furniture with his pineapple wedge escutcheons. Varnished walnut full stock checkered at butt. Engraved cap box.

We have never seen a “Peanut” with a cap box. Action is crisp on both half and full cock and scratch rifled bore is good. Barrel retains 95% period brown with “lightning stripes” and a few pits. Breech is fine as are lock and hammer all showing little wear.

Walnut stock with no damage and minor wear to checkering. This is a wonderful derringer by the originator of the genre and in the most desirable size and configuration. With the added attraction of a genuine address of most famous of San Francisco agents, this “Peanut” is simply awesome for either the Old West or derringer collector.
