A Rare Canadian Regimental 3rd Model Brown Bess Musket Converted To Percussion; The Tower Lock Dated 1827. 39 inch barrel. 75 caliber. Standard configuration.
These rare conversions were sent to Canada and converted for militia use following the Napoleonic Wars. This musket is stamped on the brass buttplate “C7 B 22”.
The 39 inch barrel with traces of British Board of Ordnance proofs in fine condition, clean metal with no pitting. The Tower lock dated 1827 arsenal cleaned at time of bolster conversion.
Brass regulation furniture in uncleaned condition. Figured walnut full stock in fine condition throughout. This Brown Bess retains its sling swivels and original ramrod. Action is excellent and mainspring is incredibly strong. Good bore. Nipple is perfect.
A rare Brown Bess for the type collector or Canadian enthusiast. Rare with regimental stampings.
