An Extremely Handsome And Incredible Scottish Regimental Brass Baskethilt Broadsword Engraved With Regimental And Family Crests Of Pattern 1790.
33 inch long broadsword blade. 1 and 3/8 inches wide at forte. Blade with single short fuller signed “I. Runk in Solingen”. The blade with fine patination and only expected light wear.
Complex brass hilt with superb untouched deep ‘honey’ colored patination. One saltire engraved with stag, crown and AMO. Another with crest, crown, and “FORWARD”. Original unwrapped shagreen grip in excellent condition.
This is one of the most attractive and genuinely historical baskethilt. 38 inches overall. This one is a gem in every respect. Condition, historical importance, identifiable, and important.
