An Incredibly Large And Entirely Original Massive And Unique Continental Double Barrel Percussion Pistol Circa 1855.
13 and 3/4 inch barrels. 70 caliber smoothbore. Fine blowed floral engraved bolted back action locks, the hammers engraved ensuite with both hammer spurs intact. Triggerguard and iron buttcap are finely engraved with florals. Wedge fastened barrel. Original iron ramrod.
Lovely walnut 3/4 stock with beautifully fluted carved grip. Barrel is patinated but not pitted and locks and mounts are crisp showing little wear. The strongly curved grip guarantees that this unique pistol is original and not an adapted long gun. The wood shows a lovely unworn patination.
An incredible 21 and 3/8th inches overall and weighing a massive 3 pounds 11 ounces.
