A Good And Entirely Original Early 17th Century Italian Left Hand Dagger.
Stout 10 and 1/4 inch blade with tapering central fuller and flattened forte. Beautiful guard with downswept tapering quillions and finely forged thumb-ring. Lovely multi-fluted swelled wood grip bound with elaborate twisted copper wire surmounted by complex copper wire “Turk’s Hads”.
Lovely fluted steel pommel with foot. This dagger appears entirely homogenous and has not been dismounted in centuries. A fine example of this desirable dagger and at a most attractive price.
