A Most Handsomely Mounted Classic Persian Shamshir With Fine Damascus Blade Circa 1800.
29 inch graceful, deeply curved blade. The Damascus pattern is especially beautiful appearing like running water. Plain likely watered steel crossguard, fine pearl scales. Very fine original velvet covered wood seaboard with splendid repousse silver chape and locket case and chased with foliage.
The two suspension mounts are likely Damascus steel ensuite with the cross guard. This is a really lovely shamshir with an unusually attractive Damascus blade.
