A Good And Scarce Colt Richards-Mason Conversion Of A Model 1860 Army With Ivory Grip Serial 6363 For 1875.

8 inch round barrel, .44 Colt Centerfire Caliber. Total production of this model estimated at 2100; serial numbers range from 5800 through 7900 placing 6363 in the middle. Serial 6387 is illustrated on page 225 of the Book of Colt Firearms.

Numbers match on barrel, frame and backstrap, cylinder with partial number 36, possibly a typical Colt Factory error. Loading gate numbered 563. Cylinder scene is 80%+.

Frame patent dates are clear as is the Colt’s Patent barrel address. Revolver shows honest wear and no original finish. Front sight is holster worn. These early conversions were popular on the Western frontier and were the contemporaries of the early Single Action Army. The ivory grip fits well and enhances the appearance of this Colt.

Mechanically good with a well worn bore still with good visible rifling, this veteran of the West will look great in any Western firearms collection.
