A Very Good Early Classic Silver Mounted Ottoman Khanjar With Beautiful Waisted And Fluted Dark Horn Grip Circa 1800 Or Earlier.
9 inch curved fine Damascus blade with strong medial ridge. The blade with staining but beautiful well executed Damascus pattern. The waisted dark horn grip is fluted and surmounted by a repousse fluted silver cap cast and chased with classic Ottoman motifs of blossoms and foliage in panels. The heavy original silver scabbard cast and chased in relief with blossoms and foliage on one side and Arabesque panels of sprays of foliage on the reverse.
17 inches overall. This is a fine example of a potentially very early Ottoman khanjar and not to be missed.
