A Very Rare And Highly Desirable 17th Century Indian “Hooded” Katar With Unique Serrated Blade.
The 16 inch blade is a full 2 inches wide at forte Elegant 9 inch straps with 5 retaining rivets secure the wicked sharp blade for fighting.
The hilt of classic “hooded’ form with wide side straps and boldly forged ridged knuckleguard decorated with 3 standing rivets and an engraved ridged band ending in a beautifully sculpted tiger comforting its cub.
This most impressive ‘hooded’ katar is nearly 22 inches overall and the steel shown the delamination and exfoliation one would expect from a nearly 400 year old dagger.
