A Very Good And Untouched Colt Richards Mason Conversion Of A Colt 1860 Army Serial Number 194812 For 1871.

5 and 1/2 inch round barrel period reduced from 8 inches.

.44 centerfire caliber, markings, mechanically fine. These Richards Mason conversions represent the quintessential revolvers of the American Western Expansion era, even more so than the legendary Colt Single Action Army which did not enter the scene until later.

Serial number 194812 displays a lovely untouched even aged patina on barrel, ejector housing, cylinder, frame and backstrap. 1871/1872 patent markings on left side of frame are deep and clear. Brass triggerguard with untouched honey color patina. Screws are good. Original walnut grips with much varnish, some minor marks, faint wear at butt, and one very minor chip at right toe. Wedge possibly replaced. Bore is good.

This is one handsome Colt at a very reasonable price.
