A Very Fine Edo Period Japanese Samurai Sword Katana With NTHK Paper Attributing The Maker As Takata Yukinaga Circa 1661.

28 inch cutting edge shinogi zukuri blade with lovely itame hada and broad attractive suguha hamon. Excellent komaru boshi. Ubu nakago with one mekugi ana and perfect untouched chocolate patination and yoko yasurimei. Good double habaki.

This wonderful samurai sword is in full bright sashikomi polish and has no kizu whatever. Bungo Yukinaga is highly rated as ‘very sharp’ and signed examples are illustrated in both Fujishiro and the Shinto taikan.

This is a truly first class katana by a good maker. Blade is mounted in a well made shira saya and the NTHK paper is included. If you are looking for a really fine long samurai sword look no further than this blade.
