A Good Napoleonic French Year Nine Regulation Flintlock Pistol Dated 1813.
8 inch round barrel. 70 caliber. A far above average example of this quintessential pistol of the Napoleonic Wars, The barrel dated 1813 on the left side of the breech. The flat lock boldly stamped “Mu. (Manufacture) Imp (Imperial) De Tulle”.
Tulle together with Maubege, Charleville and St. Etienne were the principle arsenals manufacturing firearms for the Grand Armee.
The walnut three quarter stock bears a good circular military inspection stamp. All lock parts are original to the pistol (for a change). Even the ramrod is original with correct threaded end.
The action is as crisp as it was two hundred and eleven years ago. Condition is very fine overall with a good bore.
