This is a US Model 1812/1813 Cavalry Saber by Nathan Starr. This American saber was made by Nathan Starr of Middletown, Connecticut. It has the proof marks of P/HHP (Henry H. Perkin).
The blade is stained with small areas of light to moderate pitting along the edge; there are some small nicks on the cutting edge.
The hilt is generally very tight, and the grip retains its original blade washer. Most of the grip leather is intact with a couple of areas on the right side lacking.
The scabbard is in generally very good condition totally uncleaned with some light oxidation. It is generally dent free with three dents in the middle of the back and one small dent on the right side.
The sword and scabbard would benefit from a gentle cleaning.
This is a good, solid example of the 1812/1813 model.
