Collins & Co. Legitimus No.18 Bowie Knife with Green Horn Handle And Sheath in Excellent Condition.
An extremely rare knife as issued in US WWII Army Air Force emergency kits, this knife is approximately 14 inches long, with a clip-point blade, 2 inches at its widest. The blade in fine condition, edge sharp and with no dents or dings. The desirable green horn grip is in excellent condition, with no signs of flaking. The ricasso marked with manufacturer's 'hammer' brand stamp and "COLLINS & CO. / LEGITIMUS / MADE IN U.S.A. / No. 18"
The supple leather scabbard (sheath) in excellent condition with clearly embossed markings by the manufacturer - "COLLINS & CO. LEGITIMUS". Belt loop undamaged and intact. Unlike most of these items, the tip of the scabbard is fully intact and showing no signs of brittleness or damage.
