A Good German Double Barrel Flintlock Overcoat Pistol By Christian Strum In Suhl Circa 1765.
4 and 3/4 inch round barrels with top flat. .45 caliber. Plain barrels with brass fore-sight. Patent breech. The locks with push on safeties signed “C Sturm” on right and “Suhl” on the left. Swan neck hammers, bridles frizzens. Finely engraved large brass triggerguard. Engraved brass buttcap with trophy of arms. Carved and checkered walnut fullstock. Horn tipped ramrod.
Both locks feature strong actions on both half and full cock. Bores are good.
This is a very well made pistol designed for use rather than as a wealthy German burgher’s ornament. 10 and 3/4 inches overall.
