A Fine Pair Of English Flintlock Dueling Pistols By Osborne (Pall Mall, London ca. 1750) Circa 1810.
10 inch octagonal barrels with front and rear sights. 52 caliber. Finely engraved breech tangs. Platinum blow out plugs in touch-holes. The barrels with all their finely restored Damascus brown signed “PALL MALL LONDON” (worn). Signed bolted locks with push on safety’s, rain proof pans, bridled roller bearing frizzens and engraved cock screws. Engraved steel trigger guards with pineapple finials.
Figured walnut full stocks with finely checkered butts. Set triggers and actions work smoothly on both half and full cock. 16 inches overall.
This is a pair of high quality English dueling pistols by a good maker. Stockel is mistaken about Osborne, Pall Mall, London’s working dates.
