A Fine And Attractive Japanese Samurai Sword Katana Tsuba Signed By Noted Choshu Maker Tomomitsu Circa 1800.
The fine iron plate is 2 and 7/8th inches in diameter signed “Choshu ju Tomomitsu Saku (made this). The rich brown patination is extremely pleasing as is the motif of pierced ocean waves and spray. The excellent quality and design characteristic of this renowned Choshu maker. Copper plugs in the hitsu-ana. The signature is guaranteed to be genuine (mei hoshu).
