A Rare And Entirely Genuine Chinese 17th/18th Century Halberd On 19th Century Chinese Pole.
18 inch long head which is 2 and 1/2 inches wide. Forward pointing central spike forged in one piece. The blade is fitted into an iron collar with central iron rivet and an indecipherable armourer’s mark. Showing great age and good forging fault.
This is not the typical late 19th century parade halberd but a true fighting polearm that shows its several centuries of age. Pole is decorated with a gold bullion flourish where it meets the head,
53 and 1/2 inch beautifully fluted hardwood pole.
