A Truly Spectacular And Superb Silver Mounted Omani/Indo Arab Matchlock Musket Circa 1800 With Extremely Fine Watered Silver Inlaid Barrel.

47 and 1/8th inch octagonal barrel with silver inlaid swamped muzzle. .58 caliber. The breech inlaid with silver Arabesque designs ensuite with the muzzle. The raised rear sight inlaid with two silver bands. The barrel held by 34 solid silver bands and further secured by a 4 and 3/4 inch large finely engraved band at breech and a 10 and 3/4 inch silver band near the muzzle engraved ensuite with the large breech band. A further 2 and 3/4 inch silver band decorated the extreme muzzle end.

The steel sear matchlock mechanism is encased for half its length in silver with attractive beaded border and ten raised silver roundels five on each side. The pan retains its original steel cover. The dark wood fullstock is beautifully decorated with three large silver bands enhanced with 11 smaller silver inlays all decorated with relief silver roundels ensuite with the lock roundels. A toothed beaded border joins the characteristic large ball butt.
