A Fine And Very Rare Indo-Persian Pulwar With Highly Unusual Magnificent Ladder Pattern Welded Blade With Kilij Style Yalman Cabaliatic Stamps And Makers Mark Near Forte Circa 1780.
33 inch blade with distinct ladder pattern throughout. Half moon and star stamps, circular maker’s sink deeply struck next to langlet. Flat spine with rise near hilt. Blade is razor sharp and excellent throughout. Well chiseled pulsar hilt with chiseled and pierced downturned dragon quillons.
Waisted chiseled grip decorated with fine twisted silver wire. Lotus shaped chiseled pommel still retaining its pierced finial. This wonderful ultra high grade pulwar retains its entirely original leather covered wood scabbard complete with carrying rings and finely forged steel chape in fine original condition.
So far above average if one only had one pulwar in a collection this one would be perfect. A most impressive 41 inches overall in scabbard.
