A Good Winchester Model 1886 Octagonal Barrel Rifle With Casehardened Frame 26 Inch Barrel Serial Number 44509 For 1890.
26 inch barrel. Caliber 40-82 WCF. The barrel and magazine tube with excellent edges and markings, pleasing smooth patina. Front and rear sights are original and intact. Frame, lever, and hammer with faintest traces of casehardening. Buttplate heavily patinated.
Walnut buttstock and fore-end still full dimension with minor marks, one dent on left side of stock, small chip out of right side where it meets the upper tang. The bore is fine to excellent and the action is crisp.
This is a good, full dimension antique 1886 Winchester with longer than standard octagonal barrel and a very fine bore.
