Rare And Superb Italian Main Gauche ‘Left Hand’ Dagger Circa 1660

14 and 1/4 inch length blade. 7/8th inches at forte. Recurved quillions are 7 and 1/2 inches across. The ‘sail guard’ is ribbed, line engraved, and pierced with a central diamond section with diamonds. The borders are finely roped. Finely sculpted ovoid pommel. Superbly spiral wire bound wood grip surmounted by finely woven wire “Turk’s Heads”.

Quality throughout is superior and condition is fine. This is an extraordinary piece in every respect. 18 inches overall. This dagger is homogenous and has never been dismounted.
