One Of The Rarest Weapons Of The Napoleonic Wars Is The 1814 “Figure 8” Cutlass.

Just Prior To The Cessation Of Hostilities A New Model Of Cutlass Was Submitted To The British Board Of Ordnance By Famed Gunmakers Henry Tatum And Durs Egg. The Ultra Rare 1814 Differed From Earlier British Cutlasses By Its Thicker Hilt And Falchion Style Blade.

24 and 1/4 inch cutting edge, 1 and 9/16th inches wide at forte. Blade with long single fuller and yeoman. “Figure 8” guard originally black japanned lacquer now with 30%+ japanning. Blade patinated throughout. Cast iron grip in good original condition.

Only issued in very limited numbers, this is an ultra scarce cutlass that will appeal to both the collector of British military swords, Napoleonic Wars weapons, and anyone who loves rare cutlasses.
