Colt 1849 Pocket Pistol in Period Wood Casing with Proper Accessories

The case includes: a Colt bullet mold, marked Colt; a quality unmarked bag flask; an empty tin of percussion caps; a probably original box of cartridges, and other items as seen in the photos.

The pistol has a 4-inch barrel that has scattered patches of vibrant blue particularly around the wedge and wedge screw and virtually no pitting. There is a 98 percent strong cylinder scene. All markings are strong and crisp, and all edges are strong and sharp. All numbers are matching including the loading lever; the wedge is not numbered.

The frame, hammer and loading lever retain large amounts of strong muted case hardening. The back strap and trigger guard have about 20 percent of silver remaining. The grips retain 90 percent plus of original varnish with some light edge wear and some light dents and nicks.

The gun and action are extremely tight with no Colt wobble. The case appears to be period but not factory.

This is a nice package overall with a very strong weapon and case.
