A Rare Excellent Condition Austin T. Freeman Army Revolver
Serial number 1200.
44 caliber.
One of the rarest and most interesting Civil War army revolvers with only 2000 manufactured.
7 and 1/2 inch barrel. Manufactured by Hoard’s Armory, Watertown, New York.
Though Flayderman states no known US contracts recent research reveals state purchases.
Number 1200 is in excellent condition retaining much original bright blue finish on barrel, frame, and cylinder.
Bore is excellent as are cylinder chambers and may be unfired.
As Freeman’s like Rodgers and Spencer’s have flared walnut grips, most pieces have chips. This one has nearly mint grips.
This is one of the better specimens we have encountered and will please the most discriminating collector of Civil War army revolvers.
