A Very Fine Indo-Persian Jade Hilted Gold Damascened Khanjar Circa 1845.
Magnificent 10 inch long black ladder Damascus blade with truly exceptional pattern. The forte with lovely gold Islamic style paned filled with gold Damascene foliage, The lower hilt of steel decorated with lovely gold Damascene panels filled with foliage ensuite with the blade, Finely carved dark green pistol grip upper hilt, with flat at top and inlaid with two rubies set in gold kundun work on each side and one larger faceted ruby set in gold kundun work.
15 inches overall. Blade condition is pristine with no appreciable wear and superb pattern to the Damascus. The gold Damascene with some wear but overall fine. The jade hilt in excellent condition with no damage.
