42 inch particularly stout diamond shaped rapier blade with 7 and 1/2 inch central fuller with maker’s signature within “JUAN ZIDE EN TOLEDO”. The cup finely pierced and engraved throughout with foliage and blossoms. Everted rim pierced and engraved ensuite, Hilt retains its original guardapolvo pierced and engraved ensuite with the cup. Expanded writhen and engraved, reeded quillons and D-guard chiseled, engraved, and writhen ensuite. Spirally fluted wood grip wrapped with twisted steel wire in masterful fashion surmounted by elaborate “Turk’s Heads”. Ovoid pommel pierced and engraved ensuite with cup. Hilt in fine original condition. The blade in good polished condition. 49 and 1/4 inches overall.
