An Attractive Brass Barrel English Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol By Michael Memory. London (1749-1780) Circa 1770.
9 inch round brass barrel. 7/8th inch swamped blunderbuss muzzle. London gunmakers proofs. Flat double bolted unadorned lock stamped “MEMORY" Double neck sea service style cock. Unbridled frizzen. Serpentine brass sideuplate. Plain but elegant brass triggerguard. Fine figured walnut fullstock with brass buttcap. Ramrod replaced.
Condition of brass barrel and mounts is very good. Lock is patinated with clear Memory signature. Walnut stock is very good throughout with minor tight crack at rear side nail. Action functions on both half and full cock. Bore is fine. 14 and 3/8th inches overall and a really showy Revolutionary War period brass barrel blunderbuss pistol.
