Casehardened breeches with gold line. Breech tangs finely engraved with trophy of arms. Buckhorn rear sights and silver fore-sights. Fine stepped, bolted locks with push-on safeties. Locks with sawtooth engraved borders and spray of foliage. “French” cocks are finely engraved. Full rainproof pans, roller bearing frizzens, Barrels with platinum blow-outs. Thumb-rest trigger guards with beautifully engraved trophy of arms and pineapple finials. Plain silver shield thumb pieces. Silver wedge escutcheons.

Highly figured walnut full stocks are finely checkered at wrists. The condition of these superb flintlock dueling pistols is exceptional. Barrels retain 95% fading original Damascus finish. Breeches with 80% fading casehardening. Lock with fading casehardening and showing little wear overall. All lock parts are original, Frizzen spring with 90% bright niter blue. Triggerguards retain 95% bright original beautiful “peacock” blue. Stocks with 95% original glossy varnish with very minor marks.

Actions are virtually as crisp as they were from the bench of George Lane in 1826. Both pistols retain their original brass tipped ramrods with worms. Pistols are cased in an original walnut case lined in green baize with split-ring in lid. Case lid with two age cracks.

Accessories comprise extra ramrod, antique lead balls. bullet mold, and flask. Compartment lids are missing and brass lock escutcheon is missing.

The condition of these pistols has to be seen to be properly appreciated. Truly a gem brilliant uncirculated set of flintlock dueling pistols.
